Fallout

Recently, I have become absolutely obsessed with the video game series, Fallout. I have been so utterly lucky to have fallen in love with the game just a week before E3, after the Fallout 4 trailer released. My father had been talking about how he pre-ordered the Pip-Boy Edition of the game – not yet knowing that a Pip-Boy was actually included with the special edition version of the game – and on that same night was E3. As soon as they started showing concept art of the game, I knew that this would be the game that would stick with me for a very long time. (I’m an artist myself, and seeing all of that beautiful work, before the gameplay had even started, was very inspiring for me.)

I could talk about the game itself, the feeling I got when I was watching Bethesda’s E3 conference, or how I feel about Fallout 4. Instead, I’m going to start this post with this quote, referencing the DLC for Fallout 3, Mothership Zeta;

“The Great War, in order to fit with the established motif, needs to be purely human conflict to be a morally ambiguous, horrifying event. Adding little green men turns Fallout from a serious setting and hyperbole about the nature of men into a grotesque comedy.” From Michał Tagaziel Filipiak.

I agree with this to an extent. I think Mr. Filipiak definitely falls into the group of people that think the Fallout series is just meant to be some dark, gritty, and mean series about one person going on a dark, gritty, and mean adventure. It isn’t. With the game’s characters and companions making jokes left and right, Easter Eggs being around almost every corner, the Fallout 4 trailer containing the phrase, ‘You ready to f–k some sh-t up?’ and the perk ‘Wild Wasteland’ even existing in Fallout: New Vegas, it’s kind of odd to think that so many people really see this game as something it just isn’t.

A lot of people are just missing the point of Fallout. It’s truly such an uplifting game if you put some thought into it. People are still surviving in this world, they’re making factions and civilizations and complete towns and cities all by themselves. The town of Megaton was built by scratch with the hands of people that cared enough to try and survive. The Strip is still lively and rich and glowing. Vault City became what it is from sheer will power. (From my knowledge, that is.) While the world itself may be mean and cruel, the people themselves are still surviving.

While every faction in Fallout; New Vegas has a gray morality, and Fallout 3 is certainly much more black and white, people, individually, lean more towards being kind if your character is a good person. Look at the companions; Butch Deloria in F3 is constantly acting like a little kid, Charon in F3 and Raul in FNV have, arguably, the most humor in both of their dialogues, and the fact that Rex in FNV can howl at you and tell you that ‘Jimmy’s fallen down the well.’

Now, look at the character that starts the entire game; Benny from FNV uses awful 1920’s slang, calling a female character things like ‘pussycat,’ ‘one crazy broad,’ saying that you and he need to be ‘smooth like smooth little babies,’ and that he calls certain body parts ‘charlies,’ I really don’t see how people can make this game out to be nothing more than a game about a post-apocalyptic world.

When it comes to the topic of ‘little green men’ being added into this universe in canon; The DLC Mothership Zeta was not an amazing DLC. It went on for twenty-forty minutes too long, and had the worst boss fight I have ever had the displeasure of playing through. But, I don’t think it’s that huge of a deal. I really don’t think that aliens being a part of the Fallout universe is some great, huge immersion-busting game-breaker, like so many people seem to think it is.

It’s just a DLC. From my point of view, from my personal memory, there was never some big reveal in this DLC that the aliens caused the great war. Nuclear launch codes were released from a tape that was recorded from a captive that had been a part of the U.S. military.

Did the aliens start the bickering between China, America, Russia, etc.? Did the aliens help these countries start building nuclear weapons? Did the aliens destroy most of humanity? If anybody knows, let me know. In the DLC, you can blow up an entire state though, which is rumored to be Texas, and has absolutely zero effect on the game.

This was an irrelevant DLC. A lot of people just don’t understand that the Mothership Zeta DLC was never going to be an amazing, show-stopping DLC that enhanced the lore by a million. It’s truly one of those few DLCs on Earth, that’s really just a DLC.

I’m always okay with having a Fallout conversation with anybody, but when we’re discussing the topic of DLCs that did something for the lore, talk to me about Lonesome Road, Dead Money, and The Pitt.

Eva Marie

Hey everybody! This is just a little mini-post for Friday since I’m busy this week, but nevertheless i wanted to talk just a bit today.

Eva Marie has just re-debuted this week. I am not only extremely happy that she has been able to actually train this time, (with an amazing wrestler, Brian Kendrick) I am elated that she did so well in the ring.

Honestly, I could sit here and write that I was nervous about her re-debut, that even though we’ve had so many videos that she HAS improved, that there was still doubt inside of me – But really, that just isn’t true. I haven’t for a moment doubted that Eva Marie was going to crash in and make all her haters backpeddle. Even if they won’t say it, they were wrong.

Eva is still a bit nervous and hesitant, but can you really blame her? She was booed by the crowd furiously every time she was in front of them. I know that I’d be in worse shape than she is now – She’s actually been amazing during all of this!

We need more female wrestlers in NXT, because three of them just got pushed up to the main roster – which I will talk about next week. NXT only has Bayley, Emma, Dana Brooke, Alexa Bliss, and Carmella. Of course, they have plenty of women that can debut when they’re ready, but still, Eva Marie is ready now.

I am extremely proud of Eva Marie, and I know that I’ll only become prouder over the following weeks.

Thank you all for listening and have a great weekend!

WWE Female Roster

FF Logo

The last week of straight wrestling talk is about how the female wrestlers in both NXT and the main roster are treated. This is something I am extremely passionate about, so just like the others, this will be just as long- maybe even longer.

Before anyone says it; I do not actually dislike Paige or any other Diva as an actual real person. When I talk about these women it’s about their characters.

I am not happy with the main roster’s Diva’s division. I haven’t seen a soul – other than Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn – that is content with it.

It almost feels like we’re going backwards with the Diva’s division. We had a six woman tag match just a few months back and it was twelve minutes long, and during all that, Natalya and Naomi were constantly interfering in the Superstar’s matches. It felt like we were getting somewhere – especially when the hashtag #Givedivasachance started trending, and Vince McMahon said, “We’re listening. Keep Watching.” A lot of us finally had a lot of newfound hope for the main roster’s Diva’s division. Apparently we were wrong, since we’re back to barely even five minute matches, and most of the time only a promo for Smackdown.

I don’t know what else I would expect from a seventy year old man and a fifty-eight year old man, but the things they are making Paige say are awful. There is no other word for it. Having her come out week after week saying that she’s “not like the other girls/Barbies” and therefore better is overall sloppy writing. When Paige comes out and body shames Tamina, calling her a man, it startles me. When the heels are the one that are saying that it’s okay to like traditionally feminine things and the faces aren’t, that’s confusing and very half-hearted writing. If you want to get more into just the writing, this is honestly exactly what AJ Lee did in the WWE. Paige is not AJ Lee and I don’t know why they’re acting like she is. As of late, Paige isn’t Naomi either- Her coming out and saying she wants to get what she deserves and wants to knock the Bellas off the top of the ladder. It is almost exactly what Naomi was doing, but because they have edged her out of the picture, they’ve had Paige take it on.

I feel like I can truly speak for a fair amount of people when I say this; I am a young woman, and I need role models. I need people to look up to. Of course I can always look up to my mother – she’s a strong woman, she has herself stood up in the face of inequality and adversity many times – but it would be nice to have other role models as well.

I can relate to Nikki Bella, I have the same sort of personality, I vaguely look like her, and she is definitely someone I admire and look up to. When everybody is constantly insulting her body, her looks, the clothing she wears, (by other people I absolutely love too) it becomes very, very tiring – and it makes me not like a lot of people. When I relate to a person that is constantly bagged on by things that I can relate to, it doesn’t just hurt the fictional character – it kind of hurts me. I relate to the material things about her – I cannot relate to her having a twin sister she needs to keep an eye on, or her backstabbing side, her two-faced side, her lying, cheating side. I cannot relate to her inability to fight her own battles. These are all things Paige, Naomi, AJ Lee, and others could have told her – but instead they comment on her tan.

Isn’t the WWE supposed to make me like the faces, not the heels? Aren’t the heels supposed to have unpopular, rude opinions, and the faces have words of encouragement and (mostly) respect? Most of the time I can barely even figure out who’s the heel and who’s the face in a Diva’s match, so I guess it doesn’t really matter.

I completely agree and believe that the NXT Divas are the future of the division- but we cannot let the twelve women we have on the main roster disappear or become even more buried than they already are. We all know that Paige, Nikki, Brie, Naomi, Tamina and Natalya are main eventers. We need to either let Alicia Fox, Cameron, Layla, Rosa Mendes, and Summer Rae train and get better or actually let them shine if they already can. The same four or five divas – and sometimes not even that much – is not enough.

The Diva’s division on the main roster must change before the NXT Divas come up, or it’ll be just like Emma except with Sasha, Charlotte, Becky- Divas we’ve come to love and Divas that don’t deserve to be buried. I don’t mean that Emma deserved to be buried or anything, but her character was very silly before her return to NXT – I am sure that a lot of fans have loved her through and through, but the goofy personality combined with not being told to put on a match longer than five minutes didn’t really do well with me.

Going back to Paige’s writing, I don’t want Sasha Banks and Charlotte coming up to the Main Roster and being told to say the same things that they’re having Paige say. Considering what’s happening in the storyline right now, and the fact that Vince McMahon is definitely fond of Banks and Charlotte’s in-ring abilities, it makes sense that they would be teaming up with Paige. The idea of two of my absolute favorite female wrestlers saying misogynistic things (E.G., “Because of who they’re married to?”) makes me feel very uneasy. I would be fine if it was that they team up with Paige, but they then take her down themselves.

In the end, whether it’s Charlotte or Tamina or Paige, I just want these female wrestlers to be written well. I want their characters to have depth, just like the male wrestlers.

On a bit of a side note though; I understand that the WWE crowd has been rough and mean since the dawn of time, but the NXT crowd booing Eva Marie out of the building was seriously rude and uncalled for. It seems that the people that are complaining about her are also people that are body shaming her, calling her derogatory names, and questioning whether or not she “deserves” to wrestle- even if she hasn’t even had a match yet. They don’t seem to realize that Eva has been training with Brian Kendrick and that there is video evidence that her abilities in the ring have improved greatly since we last saw her.

WWE fans need to remember that NXT is a developmental brand, this is a place for Eva to get better. They can’t boo her when they haven’t seen her wrestle in almost a year. Some WWE fans really need to remember that.

Finally, a note to the commentary crews; Women do not naturally hate each other. Yes, wrestling is a competition, whether they’re male or female everybody has to watch their backs if they have a title but women do not naturally hate each other – And please, comment on the power of the Bella Bomb, not how gorgeous she looks while she performs the move.

Thank you for reading this, and I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

NXT

NXT

Before the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, I honestly had no clue what was going on with the WWE main roster. From the women to the men, to the Diva’s Championship belt to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt. Even during MITB, I still couldn’t figure out what was going on. Then, the next night on Raw, Brock Lesnar came out, and it all started to come into place.

There’s a lot to talk about, so this will be just like the NXT post- very long and very rant-y. I won’t be talking about the Divas here, but I will in another post – I’d love to start with the Kevin Owens and John Cena feud for now.

Owens VS Cena has been so great. I have loved every moment of it – I’ve loved seeing what Kevin Owens can do in the ring and at the mic and I’ve loved seeing John Cena push him more over than he already has been. I don’t hate John Cena, I never have and I never will. I’m not going to shout “Cena sucks” or be one of those major haters online. Of course though, I can understand both sides of the Cena haters and the Cena lovers – if both of them have actual reasons as to why they like him or don’t like him.

Kevin Owens really should win the United States Championship belt and go on to have a feud with Samoa Joe. It’s the best decision, in my opinion. When Sami Zayn comes back, I’m pretty sure they’re going to have him feud with Owens for the US belt. I think that was what they were going to do, honestly, was move up Zayn and Owens at the same time so they could feud after Owens and Cena were done. If anything, I think we’re going to get a Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens match at next year’s Wrestlemania- but hey, maybe I’m just really optimistic.

On another note, I have literally no clue what is happening with Sheamus and the MITB briefcase right now. I understand that the original purpose of the briefcase was to push midcard wrestlers up – Like Jack Swagger, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan. It’s so they can get their shot at the WWE Title if there really isn’t another way to get them into a WWE WHC storyline. I argue with my own point that Sheamus has already had the belt – and the worst part is that so many people talk about his title reign like a horror story. Very few people have been unsuccessful with cashing in the briefcase – Mr. Kennedy lost the briefcase to Edge in 2007, John Cena was unsuccessful in 2012, and Damien Sandow lost in 2013. Three people out of fourteen – the statistics don’t show that Sheamus will be unsuccessful. It’s a shame that I want him to be unsuccessful, I love Sheamus. He’s a great wrestler, a great performer, but him winning the briefcase is just a bad idea to me.

Sheamus being the winner of the briefcase makes no sense to me. Adrian Neville could have won, to show what winning that ladder match is all about. Randy Orton could have won and shown that he isn’t boring. Kofi Kingston could have won and gotten the chance to finally be champion. Dolph Ziggler would have gotten another great title run (He is such a great and hard worker, he deserves another run). Kane would have gotten revenge on Seth Rollins, and Roman could have gotten his revenge on Seth too. Roman, Dolph, and Neville were the safest and smartest choices – And yet they went with Sheamus. It just doesn’t make sense to me, and I hope we don’t have a moment of wrestling history repeating itself.

Now, about the Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt feud. I really am fond of this feud, but Roman really should just barrel over Bray at Battleground. This really shouldn’t go any farther than that. I definitely do think this is kind of like commentary on the fans. What with the ‘Anyone but you’ written on the walls, – representing what the fans were saying. The eyes and mouth cut out of every picture of Roman – representing the fans complaining about how his promos were, and some fans did complain about the color contacts. The word ‘liar’ written on the wall – ‘I CAN and I WILL.’

The feud is great, but like I said, it can’t last longer than Battleground. They have two obvious options for Roman right now – Him winning the Championship, or him with a reunited Shield.

I feel like it’s obvious that Seth is going to lose the championship at Battleground – Then again, I thought it was obvious that Roman and Dean were both going to win at MITB, so I might be jinxing it when I say that. But, if Brock does win, I think that Seth is going to be rejected from the Authority. When Seth is mouthing off at the Authority, he’ll end his speech with, “There’s always plan B” and Roman and Dean appear beside him. Obviously Roman would take pity on him- He’s certainly more forgiving than Dean is. I think the fact that they just won’t let go of Seth breaking up the Shield, showing it almost every time Seth does a promo, it’s kind of obvious that if anything they’re thinking about reuniting the trio.

It’s either that, or Seth retains, and Summerslam there’s a Triple Threat, with Roman, Seth and Brock. Maybe Brock doesn’t win again, and we get a Wrestlemania Championship Triple Threat, with Dean instead of Brock. I’m relatively sure that Roman would come out on top in the end either way. If anything, I really do want him to. They’ve put Roman in so many good spots just to take the win away from him.

Finally, the person I choose to talk about last, is Adrian Neville. He is in my top three for favorite wrestlers right now. He’s an absolutely amazing wrestler, an amazing performer, and great at the mic. Adrian is one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever seen, especially with being so new to the WWE. I know he isn’t new to wrestling itself, but I’m still amazed by him. I truly think he was the best person to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, if not Reigns. He was fantastic in the match anyways, I think later in his WWE career they might find that ladder matches are where he does his best work – like the Hardy’s or Edge and Christian. I hope they find Adrian a solid storyline and that he can really find his place in the WWE.

Thank you for reading, I cannot wait for the Live Tokyo Event on July 4th, and I hope you all enjoy the show and have a great weekend!

NXT

FF Logo

As of late, I have completely fallen in love with wrestling, to the point where I would change my professional career path from being an artist to becoming a commentator for the WWE.

There’s a lot for me to talk about, but right now I’d love to take a moment this week and talk about NXT.

NXT has truly become its own brand. It is something I can stop watching and be satisfied with the outcomes of literally every single match. The writing for NXT is, arguably, better than that of Raw and Smackdown – especially for the female wrestlers, but that’s for a whole other post.

There is no one on NXT I necessarily dislike. Not all characters have swept me off my feet, (Sorry Bull Dempsey!) but a lot of them have. Sami Zayn, Charlotte, Hideo Itami, and Sasha Banks are just a few people I always pay attention to and I always know they’ll do well – unlike some over at Raw and Smackdown. (Sorry Big Show.)

It’s very nice with a developmental brand like this, because even if you’re not amazing in the ring, it really shouldn’t matter at the beginning. NXT is a sort of safe space for wrestlers that are still green. If they mess up, we shouldn’t yell and get angry at them – they’re working to get better, this is why they’re here. It’s kind of an honor to see these kids become amazing and perfect their artform. What with Kevin Owens being pushed to the main roster so fast, we truly do have future WWE World Heavyweight Champions and Diva’s Champions in NXT.

It feels almost definite; Kevin Owens having the WWE World Heavyweight championship belt within the next ten years, considering he is officially on the main roster. I personally think that he will take the belt from whoever is holding the title at the time at a Wrestlemania, and the Raw afterwards Owens will be doing a promo, talking about how much he’s overcome. He gets to a point in his speech where he sort of reflects on his reign with the NXT Championship, mentioning Sami Zayn and how he practically killed him for the belt – and then we hear Sami’s music.

It’s fairly necessary to revive Zayn and Owens’ fued when the time comes. Unlike before with NXT, Sami will stand tall with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt in his hands. I feel like that would be perfect, especially if WWE gave their all on the feud.

I’d actually love to take a moment to talk about Sami Zayn, considering he’d absolutely have to be the one to take the WWE WHC belt from Owens – and he is my absolute favorite wrestler right now.

Sami Zayn is such a great wrestler, he’s constantly adding new moves to his list, from a Tornado DDT to various arm drags to his absolutely fantastic Diving Crossbody. His Koji Clutch truly looks impossible to get out of, it looks very complicated which is always great. I could never forget to mention his finisher though, Helluva Kick, which has been with him since his El Generico days in Ring of Honor – it’s got such power and force and a finality to it, it’s a great move to make a finisher. I think it’s great that he’s kept that move for so long too.

Sami Zayn is constantly adding new moves to his moveset, it’s absolutely fantastic. He’s nowhere near needing to, but he does a great job at staying interesting in the ring. They’re always so amazing, his moves, it’s hard to not just say the same thing about them.  Overall, Sami Zayn is absolutely amazing – as the person or as the character. He’s a passionate, charming, engaging, and talented young wrestler. For a lot, including myself, it’s hard not to get excited when his entrance music hits and he comes barreling out – I absolutely cannot wait for him to come back.

It is truly saddening to me that Sami Zayn is going to be out until 2016. I definitely do think that they were going to move Kevin Owens and Sami at the same time, so they could maybe feud together after this John Cena and Owens feud. Zayn vs Owens for the US title is something I cannot wait for when he gets back. We all hope he has a full recovery and comes back at full health.

The same goes for Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Hideo Itami. Banks and Charlotte are two of my absolute favorite female wrestlers, and Hideo is a very close second for favorite male wrestler from NXT.

Banks and Charlotte have a great chemistry in the ring, and their feud was absolutely amazing – and I just cannot wait for Hideo to come back. I certainly don’t want to bore you with going through all of Charlotte’s, Banks’, and Itami’s moves. I will say, that not only does Charlotte look powerful, she is powerful. Sasha Banks has a sort of elegant strength that’s absolutely wonderful, and I certainly hope they give Hideo his amazing GTS back to him one day.

So many of these kids in NXT come from the Independent wrestling scene, – probably picked up by ROH beforehand- so it does make sense for people like Sami Zayn (previously known as El Generico) or Adrian Neville (previously known as PAC) to already have almost-mastered their artform. It does still stun me a bit though. They’re so fresh, yet they’ve already experienced so much. What they do in the ring, experienced or green, they’re all so amazing. I am so beyond glad that so many of these great performers are getting these chances to blossom in NXT and the WWE. Kevin Owens and Adrian Neville are great examples of what could happen to almost everyone at NXT.

I am so proud of Neville too, but I’ll talk about him later.

I always love seeing NXT every week, I have never once been overly stressed about it, I have always trusted Triple H and the writers in NXT. I trust the path they’re going with storylines and what they’re going to do with the NXT Championship belt and the NXT Women’s Championship belt.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

Hey everybody!

I apologize for being away for a good long time, but I’ll try to be consistent from now on.

While I’ve been gone a lot of stuff has gone down. The Avengers: Age of Ultron has come out, the casting for Spiderman in Captain America: Civil War has come down to a few young actors, wrestling has been amazing yet has been very unpredictable – and personally for me a bit stressful – and Phoenix Comic-Con was just a few weeks ago!

I hope to share my feelings on those – and a lot of other things as well – in the near future! Thanks for sticking with us, and have a great weekend.

Big Hero 6

I’ve recently watched Big Hero 6, and I have to say, it’s definitely in my top five favorite Disney movies. It’s a bright movie full of energy, and while it may have them, the darker and sadder parts do not bog down the movie. I will say, it’s not the all-time best Disney movie, but it’s certainly better than Frozen could ever be…in my opinion.

The animation is absolutely fantastic in this movie, it’s stylized in such an appealing way. I do feel like they could have done more dynamic shots, but overall it was a great design for the movie. Of all the characters, I definitely think both Tadashi and Baymax were spot on.

Like all Disney movies, many of us expected for the parents to be dead in the movie. I had previously known that Tadashi, Hiro’s older brother, dies in the movie, but I wasn’t expecting how he died. If you think about it in comic book terms, it’s actually a very open-ended death, and we could see Tadashi in a Big Hero 6 sequel. From what I know, there is a character called Sunfire, and has power involving fire. We could see Tadashi in “Big Hero 7” as Sunfire, and I would personally love that.

I was already sold on Big Hero 6 when I saw the cast. It is such a diverse and solid group, and I feel like it can be easy to relate to the characters. I personally relate to Honey Lemon, constantly wearing heels, the glasses, and bright clothing – but also being more than that, she’s smart and kind and has a sort of unbridled love for everyone. Like all the other characters, I would love for more development for her in the next movie.

I feel like this movie breaks a good amount of stereotypes. Honey Lemon isn’t just a dumb blonde chick, Wasabi isn’t mean and tough, and Go Go Tomago is tough, but she isn’t really mean and cold-hearted. It isn’t like this movie is really ground-breaking, but the fact that Go Go is Korean, Wasabi is African-American, both Tadashi and Hiro are Asian, and Honey Lemon is (supposed to be) Latina, it is considerably different from most movies, and fairly progressive.

Also, Baymax was amazing. He was the absolute best part of this movie. He was so incredibly soft, and from the beginning I think we all just loved him immediately. His design was absolutely perfect, I just don’t think there was another way to make him look so lovable and soft. I’m hoping they come out with more Baymax merchandise, because I would be happy to get more merch of Baymax!

They took a real risk with this movie, and I’m so glad it did so well. I was wanting a sequel before the movie even ended. I can only hope they actually do make a sequel.

Ghostbusters Reboot

As we all know, the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot cast has been announced – Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wigg, and Melissa McCarthy, and I’d love to talk about that.

I personally love all these comedians, especially Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon which you can see every Saturday on SNL. I personally don’t understand all the “controversy” on an all-female cast. These are all amazing comedians, and a lot of people love them.

When it comes to a reboot, I would personally hate to see the same thing in just a modern setting. An all-female ‘Ghostbusters’ is an amazing and creative and – I feel, most importantly – a progressive idea. The same thing again in a modern setting is obviously a dull idea. I feel like that’s why ‘The Amazing Spider-man’ movies didn’t do very well. It was different, but it wasn’t really all that new. Reboots always need to have more than just a few new elements.

The first name I was most excited about was Leslie Jones. I love her sense of humor, she’s so funny and is my favorite person on SNL right now. I think a role in ‘Ghostbusters’ is perfect for her. I think she’s the most perfect pick out of the four. I think Kate McKinnon is also hilarious and deserves this role just like all the others. I can’t wait to see both of these actresses do an absolutely great job.

I feel like Kristen Wigg and Melissa McCarthy were obvious choices. They’re both absolutely wonderful actresses and two of the funniest comedians right now. From what I can remember, I think they work perfectly with each other, and I’m excited to see them in these roles. I hope all these actresses can work well together in the movie.

And that’s how I feel about the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

NXT WWE

Hey guys! Recently, I’ve really gotten into wrestling, and just as recently, the main roster has been a bit off, so I took more notice into NXT, where new wrestlers go to be exposed to WWE audiences and learn how to work in their environment and building up their characters. I’ve gotta say, it’s really amazing.

NXT is such a great place for these new wrestlers. The divas have a real place in NXT, they don’t just get two-five minute matches that are fillers, they get some legit matches there. The storyline for the divas is more intricate like the superstars’ are. That’s always upset me with the main roster. The divas work so hard to get where they are, but they still only get one match, and sometimes two. The NXT divas don’t have more matches each episode, but with how long they are I feel like the wrestling world might make some progress and we’ll get to see them all more often.

I have been absolutely loving Charlotte. She is such a great wrestler, and she has made her father, Ric Flair, so proud. Charlotte is amazing, and she was the first one to bring my attention to NXT’s divas division. She’s got great charisma, and she pulls off her gimmick really well, and her feud with Sasha Banks is fantastic, and I’m really hoping that the little fights between Bayley and Charlotte lead to them having a feud – and I would really love if this lead to Bayley maybe changing her gimmick a bit.

It’s hard for me to judge the other divas, I’ve always been focused on Charlotte, but I really feel like they’re all doing a great job with their given gimmicks. Bayley is the only one that comes off as a weaker competitor to me, but I do feel like she can get there.

Hideo Itami is a great athlete and wrestler. His gimmick is good and serious, he’s strong and fairly fast, but I will admit that he is stiff (this is what NXT is for though, to expand yourself, to grow, and to learn.) – but right now his twitter feud with Tyler Breeze is fantastic. Tyler picks on Hideo and Hideo comes back just as well, in my opinion.

I really respect Tyler Breeze during this whole twitter feud. He has not once made any sort of comment on Hideo’s race, unlike Curtis Axel, whose first comment on him was about his race.

Tyler Breeze has such a fun gimmick, it’s definitely good to start out with a character like this. I think he’s hilarious, and – in a goofy way – charming. He’s a great wrestler too, he does a great job staying in character.

Adrian Neville is honestly one of the best athletes I’ve seen, and it’s amazing that he can only get better. He is a high-flying wrestler, and he almost always executes every move amazingly. He can keep pace like crazy and every match is so cool and fantastic. His feud with Sami Zayn was absolutely amazing too. It honestly was one of the best I’ve seen. It had depth, and it definitely showed me that NXT is a truly amazing place to be if you’re a new wrestler.

Sami Zayn is just as amazing as Adrian Neville. During their feud, they complemented each other perfectly throughout the entirety of it. He has recently gotten a bit more wild, and I really like that. It’s character development, and I am really excited for his and Kevin Owen’s match on NXT Takeover. I know they’re going to put on an amazing match, and I am just so excited for it.

NXT is amazing, I know that if Triple H had full control over WWE, it would be amazing. NXT has been nothing but perfect. I definitely feel like everyone should pay attention to these guys, even the ones I haven’t mentioned.

Thor: The Dark World

Hey guys! This is my review of Thor: The Dark World, which is an overall great movie and never gets boring.

Malekith was wonderful, and Christopher Eccleston played it amazingly. The only thing I had seen him in was Doctor Who, and I couldn’t recognize him as Malekith. I was absolutely amazed with Malekith and the Dark Elves overall. The Dark Elves have a creepy manikin-like doll-ness to them, and it makes them unsettling in somehow a pleasant way. I thought they were great, and they could keep incorporating them into stories since there are also Light Elves.

Idris Elba is such a wonderful actor, and Heimdall was executed perfectly. I’m very glad he was the one who was cast in this role, and I’m even happier we saw more of him. Heimdall is an amazing supporting character and is one of those characters that just sort of makes the movie.

Lady Sif is even better in this movie, her armor looks practical, and we definitely get to see more of her being able to completely destroy in battle. We see hints that she loves Thor, but it never takes over her character or reflects negatively upon her. Sif and Thor’s banter was really great too, and I want to see more of that.

Thor is, as usual, a great character. There’s sort of a sadder vibe to him in this movie, considering he’s still getting over not being able to get to Jane, and then later in the movie having to deal with his mother’s death. All sequels get darker, but I feel like Thor’s character had a more noticeable change.

I really enjoy that they had Jane be possessed by the Aether, it gave something more to her character, but I really do feel like her character is written like too much of a love interest. I do like her character and she is Thor’s love interest, but I definitely feel like she comes off more cliche than all of the other Marvel female characters. You can’t have every character be the same, of course, but there is something off with Jane for me. I may just be the only one, but I feel like she could have been different.

Loki in this movie was even more interesting and deep than the last two. He seems less ruthless – even if he is still very demeaning – and when Odin says he will never see his mother again, there is true pain on his face. Loki is not a loving person, he is not affectionate or caring, but he loves Frigga – he loves his mother (and considering his final scene as Odin, most likely he does still cares for Thor). He will always say she isn’t his mother, but she only isn’t his birth mother. She immediately loved Loki, and took him as their son right away – there was no doubt that he was now a part of her family, whether or not he was destined to be king.

Frigga’s first moment in the movie was her being loving. She cared for both of her sons, no matter what they did, and that’s truly what Frigga is. I wish we had gotten to see more of her, considering how fantastic she is. She’s one of the best movie mothers I’ve seen, and I wish they hadn’t killed her off.

Frigga’s death is very beautiful though, and her dying so honorably – protecting her family – made it more meaningful. She wasn’t just stabbed while she just watched- she actually fought back, and we honestly don’t see that a lot. I don’t feel like she died in a cliche way. It’s an obvious trope, that the mother dies to bring emotion and character development to the main character/s, but it was such a strong and powerful scene, not focusing on how Thor, Loki, and Odin were handling it and/or crying, but instead it focused on the fact that she was gone, and going to Valhalla. (Norse mythology/Asgard’s heaven, and in some tellings, it’s mostly where their warriors went which makes Frigga’s death even more meaningful)

The design for the movie is stunning, and the details on everything is amazing. Even the chains Loki had were very detailed, and the main reason why I cried during Frigga’s death scene was because of the absolutely beautiful CGI. It was one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever seen, honestly.

I absolutely love this movie, and I cannot wait for the next one.
