Huzzah!

This past Saturday my family and I spent the better part of the day at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. It was a lot of fun and I am already looking forward to next year.

There are Renaissance Festivals just about everywhere now-a-days and if you have not been to one you should give it a shot.

Some people are a little put off by the cast of medieval garbed employees and visitors, but it is easy to avoid that and just enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes.

This year we did not watch any of the myriad of shows for the most part, but instead walked around, shopped and ate. The food there is incredible and we indulged in various meats-on-sticks (steak, chicken, sausage), corn on the cob, and roasted pecans. It is the one time of the year where I cut loose and enjoy the food and this year was no exception.

The shopping is great as well since most of the stuff you find can only be seen there and a large amount of it is handcrafted.

I cannot recommend enough to visit your local Ren Fair at least once to see what the fuss is about and maybe even make it an annual event.
